The term is a product with a beginning and an end marked in the calendar. Ten sessions, one closed price and a group that stays together: treating it as a subscription bills wrongly every single month.
The group must be rebuildable. A couple splitting up, two solo enrolments and a move from Monday to Wednesday are daily events, not exceptions.
The studio room is the scarce resource. Two classes at once in one space is a mistake an occupancy plan prevents and a note on the door does not.
Teachers are paid for sessions held, not sessions planned. Cancellation, cover and an extra class belong in the same list as the payroll.
The June show is a second company. Costumes, hall hire, ticketing and parental consent are administration with a fixed date on top.
The wedding dance is booked apart, squeezed in among everything else. Finding slots outside the weekly timetable without double-booking rooms or teachers is the real work of whoever keeps the diary.
