Anyone looking for an agency or a studio already has an idea and a budget in mind. They want to know whether you do exactly that, on which stack, and roughly what it costs — before they fill in a form.
A portfolio without context convinces nobody. What lands is the case: the situation, what you changed, what happened next. Three paragraphs per project beat twenty logos in a row.
What clients have been burned by is the handover: who owns the code, what happens the week after launch, who answers when something breaks at six. Answering that on the page wins the projects other studios lose at contract stage.
Say how you charge: fixed price, monthly retainer, day rate. Nobody expects a figure without a brief, but a client who cannot tell how the bill will be shaped keeps looking until somebody explains it.
State plainly what is not included. No content writing, no link acquisition and no social media makes the specialism credible, and clients who need those are better served elsewhere.
Explain the migration service loudly. Redirect mapping, staging validation and a launch checklist are cheap beforehand and enormously expensive afterwards, and most enquiries arrive too late.
Write for developers in their own terms. Rendering, crawl budget, structured data and response codes are the vocabulary of the people who will implement the work, and vagueness there loses their confidence instantly.
Show how work is handed to a development team. Whether findings arrive as tickets in the client's own tracker, with acceptance criteria, decides whether anything is ever shipped.
The deliverable is a set of tickets a developer can pick up, not a report a marketing team files. Saying that immediately separates this work from everything else sold under the same three letters.
Two people have to be convinced: an engineering lead who distrusts marketing requests, and a director who cannot evaluate any of it. The site has to speak to both without patronising either.
Aimed at the people who will implement it: tickets rather than reports, migrations reviewed beforehand, developer vocabulary used properly and the scope honestly narrow.
The offer that saves a client the most money is the least glamorous: let us look at the migration before you launch it.
