One unit leaves nowhere to move somebody. A hotel with a double booking finds another room; a single treehouse produces a refund, an apology and a review, so calendar synchronisation across channels is not administration, it is survival.
Minimum stays create gaps. A two-night rule leaves single empty nights between weekends, and those orphaned nights are worth more than they look once somebody counts them across a season.
Turnaround is a journey, not a room. Carrying linen down a track, refilling a wood store and checking a composting toilet takes an hour longer than a flat in town, and a same-day changeover has to be planned around that.
The same price earns different money. A direct booking and one arriving through a listing site differ by the commission, so knowing the mix — and what it costs each month — is what makes the direct-booking effort measurable.
