Cancellations are announced by absence. A member who stops coming in week six cancels in week twelve, and a gym that notices the first can act while the second is still avoidable.
Full classes are not full rooms. Places booked and never used mean a session shows as sold out while ten spaces sit empty, so no-shows need a policy rather than a shrug.
Terms have to be applied evenly. Freezes, transfers and notice periods granted informally to some members and refused to others produce complaints that are entirely self-inflicted.
The January cohort is the year. How many of those members are still attending in April is the single most useful number a gym can measure, and almost none of them track it.
