Admission is a process with evidence. Qualifications, experience claimed in place of them and the decision made need recording, because an accrediting body may ask years later why somebody was admitted.
The cohort moves as a group and individuals fall behind quietly. Knowing who has not submitted the second assignment is what allows an intervention while the student can still catch up.
Employers pay differently. A purchase order, an invoice to a finance department and occasionally a clause tying payment to completion behave nothing like somebody paying by standing order.
Deadlines predict withdrawal. A student who misses one submission usually misses the next, and the window in which a conversation still works is measured in weeks rather than months.
