A company supplying waiters and event staff, with teams in Mallorca, Ibiza, Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, had a recent, well-built website: 70 pages in Spanish and English, guides and structured data. The faults were underneath. Google Analytics and the Meta pixel loaded without asking for consent. Seventeen hreflang links pointed to English guides that returned errors. There was no legal notice. And 26 photographs were served unoptimised: 4.5 MB.
What we built
- The same 70 URLs, with their titles, descriptions, canonicals and structured data intact. The content was extracted with a script that stops if any page loses more than 2 % of its vocabulary.
- Cookie banner with Consent Mode v2: analytics and the advertising pixel do not load until the visitor accepts, rejecting takes the same effort as accepting, and conversion events are only measured with consent.
- Team calculator in Spanish and English, built as a landing page for ads: type of event, format, guests and hours, and it returns waiters, bartenders and team leader using the ratios the company already publishes in its guides. It gives no prices; it leads to a request for a fixed quote.
- Not one broken hreflang: each version points only to pages that exist.
- Images to WebP: from 4.5 to 2.2 MB. The Mallorca page went from 812 to 364 KB, and on a phone with slow 4G the home page shows its main content in 1.2 seconds instead of 5.9.
- Legal notice and cookie policy, which did not exist.
