Report writing is the hidden half of the job. An assessment report takes hours, it is genuinely billable, and practices that do not record that time price their assessments as though it were free.
Sessions here run in term-time blocks. Booking ten weekly slots in one go, with holidays already excluded, avoids the rescheduling that otherwise consumes an afternoon every half term.
Schools pay differently from families. Purchase orders, invoices at the end of a term and a named contact who is not the person in the room: treated like private appointments, those invoices are the ones that go unpaid longest.
Progress is measured over terms, not sessions. Targets recorded from the assessment onwards give the family something concrete at review, and they are what justifies continuing.
