Format is the search. A corporate film, a product video, a case study, an event recap: each has a different purpose and a different budget, and a general showreel matches none of those phrases.
Cost is asked constantly and answered rarely, because production companies dislike committing to a number. Publishing a range, and what pushes a project up it, brings in the enquiries that were funded and spares everyone the ones that never were.
Sector experience shortens every conversation. A company that has filmed in a factory, a hospital or a kitchen knows the access, the safety and the light, and clients pay for not having to explain any of it.
The crew has to travel even when the client does not. Being findable in the city where the filming will happen matters more than where the edit suite is, and most companies optimise for the wrong one.
